Announcing: Open and click tracking per email

Turn off open tracking, click tracking, or both for a single email. Delivery, bounce, and complaint events stay on.

You can now turn off open tracking and click tracking independently for one email. Delivery, bounce, and complaint events are still recorded. Each flag defaults to on, so existing sends are unchanged.

Use this when one message should not rewrite links or add an open pixel, while the rest of your email keeps tracking.

What you can control

  • openTracking: false — no open pixel is added, and opens are not recorded.
  • clickTracking: false — links stay as written, and clicks are not recorded.
  • Omit the field, or set it to true — that kind of tracking stays on.

You can set one flag, or both. A password-reset email can skip opens and clicks while another notification still tracks them.

Email API

Set the flags on email.send, including scheduled sends:

await pingram.email.send({
type: 'password_reset',
to: 'user@example.com',
subject: 'Reset your password',
html: '<p><a href="https://example.com/reset">Reset</a></p>',
openTracking: false,
clickTracking: false
});

That example turns off opens and clicks.

See Tracking and Analytics for how opens, clicks, deliveries, bounces, and complaints show up in Logs and Insights.
