SendGrid pricing in 2026 is an email-volume bill plus a second Marketing Campaigns bill. The caps that change the price are the trial, the 50,000-email step, and the dedicated IP.

SendGrid prices transactional email and marketing email separately. The transactional trial is 100 emails a day for 60 days. The first paid plan depends on whether you need a dedicated IP, log retention, or more than one teammate: $19.95 a month without them, or $89.95 for production. Marketing pricing is below.

Pingram is a modern alternative that is the smaller bill in most scenarios. It offers a better free tier and a $20 plan that covers dedicated IPs, longer log retention, unlimited team members and templates. Detailed comparison is in Pingram vs. SendGrid.

SendGrid volumes are the included allotment. Taxes sit on top of these rates.

SendGrid Marketing Email Campaigns Pricing Sheet

Marketing Campaigns is a second subscription. The price is the plan card that covers both the contacts you store and the emails you send. As of October 6, 2026, these are the cards.

Plan Contacts Emails Monthly price
Free trial 100 100 a day, for 60 days $0
Free 2,000 6,000 $0
Basic 5k 5,000 15,000 $15
Basic 10k 10,000 30,000 $25
Basic 20k 20,000 60,000 $50
Advanced 10k 10,000 50,000 $60
Advanced 20k 20,000 100,000 $100
Basic 50k 50,000 150,000 $120
Basic 100k 100,000 300,000 $200
Advanced 50k 50,000 250,000 $250
Advanced 100k 100,000 500,000 $450
Advanced 200k 200,000 1,000,000 $900
Custom 500,000 and above 2.5 million and above Quote

Basic includes 1 teammate. Advanced includes 1,000, and it is the tier with access to a dedicated IP. A contact still in storage at midnight UTC counts toward the next month.

Pingram does not sell this plan. A broadcast draws the same monthly budget as transactional email. And there is no contact-storage allotment.

Transactional Email Pricing Scenarios

In pretty much every scenario, Pingram is cheaper than SendGrid. The only exception where SendGrid is cheaper is narrow and not recommended for production: transactional-only emails between 40k-100k emails/month without a dedicated IP (not recommended) are cheaper in SendGrid.

Scenario SendGrid Pingram
3,000 emails a month, after the trial $19.95 $0
40,000 emails, no dedicated IP $19.95 $20
40,000 emails, dedicated IP $89.95 $20
50,000 emails, no dedicated IP $19.95 $50
50,000 emails, dedicated IP $89.95 $50
100,000 emails, no dedicated IP $34.95 $50
100,000 emails, dedicated IP $89.95 $50
100,000 marketing emails $100 $50
200,000 emails, no dedicated IP $122.95 $100
200,000 emails, dedicated IP $199.95 $100
500,000 emails, no dedicated IP $386.95 $250
500,000 emails, dedicated IP $431 $250
1,000,000 emails, no dedicated IP $826.95 $500
1,000,000 emails, dedicated IP $733 $500
2,000,000 emails, no dedicated IP $1,706.95 $1,000
2,000,000 emails, dedicated IP $1,094 $1,000

SendGrid vs. Pingram Verdict

Pingram is the better fit for a modern codebase and an agile team, and for anyone who wants hands-on support or SMS, voice, and broadcast email from the same vendor.

SendGrid is the better fit for Enterprise teams who prefer a sales-heavy procurement process and are fine buying marketing and any other channel as a separate product.

Sec. 02FAQ

Common questions

01How much does SendGrid cost in 2026?

As of October 6, 2026, the Email API trial is 100 emails a day for 60 days. Essentials is $19.95 a month for 50,000 emails or $34.95 for 100,000. A dedicated IP starts on Pro at $89.95 for 100,000 emails. Premier is a quote past 2.5 million emails a month. Marketing Campaigns is a second subscription. The plan that includes 100,000 sends is $100 a month. Pingram is one budget: 3,000 emails free, then $20 for about 40,000 emails and $50 for about 100,000, with a dedicated IP on paid plans.

02Do the Email API and Marketing Campaigns share one plan?

No. You buy them separately, on the same account. An Email API send does not draw Marketing Campaigns credits, and a campaign send does not draw the API allotment. Password resets belong on the Email API. A newsletter belongs on Marketing Campaigns. Pingram sends broadcast email from the same monthly budget as transactional email.

03What does SendGrid charge past the included emails?

Each extra Email API message is billed per email, on the next month’s invoice. On Essentials 50,000 the rate is $0.00133. On Essentials 100,000 it is $0.00088. About 11,300 emails past the $19.95 plan, the $34.95 plan costs less than the overage. Accounts opened through Heroku or Google Cloud cannot send past the plan. On Pingram, extra email draws $0.0005 from the monthly budget.

04When should you pick Pingram instead of SendGrid?

In most scenarios. A paid Pingram budget includes a dedicated IP, 30 days of logs, unlimited teammates, and SMS, voice, and broadcast email. SendGrid prices those as a higher tier or a second subscription. The exception is transactional-only email without a dedicated IP (not recommended), between 40,000 and 100,000 emails a month.
